Articulation Mastery

1. choose a scale you know well

2. set metronome to easy tempo

3. play through twice very softly without letting pick move around in your hand

4. play through twice very loud; keep in time, do not speed up; you may want to dip pick deeper into ‘trench’

5. play through once ascending from very soft (low strings) to very loud (high strings) and then back to very soft as you get back to low strings

6. play through once ascending from very loud (low strings) to very soft (high strings) and then back to very loud as you get back to low strings

7. play though several times, gradually changing from soft to loud and vice versa
